Interlibrary loan and library search tools updates launching on May 19

Last fall, the University Libraries began working on making important updates for our library system.
Our goal was to enhance the online library search and interlibrary loan request processes, improve the website’s user experience for students, faculty, and staff, and make our internal workflows more efficient.
On May 19, we’re launching updates to our library search and introducing Rapido, a new interlibrary loan tool.
Some things on our website will look different, but your experience will be better.
Key updates and changes
Rapido
You’ll find it easier to submit requests for materials through our interlibrary loan (ILL) service with Rapido. ILL allows you to request and borrow physical and electronic materials from other libraries. Learn more about Rapido.
Library search
You’ll be able to search for journals by discipline with our new library search, making the process easier.
Research Assistant, a new AI tool
This new AI tool helps you find what you’re looking for in library search. You can:
- Use natural language prompts rather than keywords.
- Search in multiple languages.
- Use this tool for exploratory searches but not for comprehensive searching.

Save your Saved Searches and search history before May 19
Your current saved searches and search history won’t be migrated with the updates. If you have items you want to save, preserve your saved searches before May 19.
