Log of cattle and horse brands. The 241 entries, on 57 leaves, were originally entered at the Recorder's Office of Yolo County (Calif.), from Oct. 3, 1850 through Aug. 17, 1874. Information recorded includes rancher's name, description and drawing of earmark and brand, date recorded, and name and title of person recording.
The document was signed and stamped with the official seal by the Yolo County Recorder, J. D. Lawson, on September 30, 1874. At the request of Wells, Fargo & Company, the document was also signed and recorded by the Sacramento County Recorder, Matt Clarken, on November 4, 1874.
The first two leaves, containing seven entries, are missing.
