Jay Rochlin videocassette collection

The Jay Rochlin video cassettes measure 3 linear feet and consist of 22 U-matic and 2 VHS tapes of television news stories produced, directed and hosted by Jay Rochlin for the UA Alumni Association and KGUN 9, the Tucson ABC affiliate. KGUN productions are noted alongside titles. Also included are interviews and research material on five ¼” audio tapes. There is one folder of documents including footage logs and applications for entry in the Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards. Produced between 1977 and 1985, program topics are centered primarily on Southern Arizona and the University of Arizona. The collection is arranged chronologically in a single series.
A native of Nogales, Arizona, Jay Rochlin earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and education (1973), a master's in business administration (1987) and a PhD in higher education (1993) all from the University of Arizona. Rochlin's career has included work in both radio and television broadcasting, having served as the editor of the University of Arizona Alumni Association magazine for twenty years, and as an assistant professor of practice in the UA's School of Journalism for eight years before his retirement in 2012.
