The collection consists of 3 series of correspondence, notes, photographs, articles, letters and printed materials related to the Moral Re-Armament (MRA) organization and Up with People (UWP). It primarily includes personal correspondence home between 1953-1965, miscellaneous photos, letters home regarding experience in the Congo between 1960-1962. Also included are books about the Colwell Brothers, 9 45rpm records and 4 audio LP records.
J. Stephen Colwell is a writer and musician that traveled and worked with his brothers as the Colwell Brothers for the Moral Re-Armament (MRA) organization from 1953-1965, and later as a musical founding member of Up with People (UWP). His main years of involvement with Up with People are from 1965-2000.
