Unpublished manuscript includes sections on the Oatman family, the Camp Grant Massacre, and contains typewritten materials from the Arizona Pioneers Society including a list of people killed by Apaches, 1869-1870, an 1885 resolution to present the true Apache situation to government officials. Contemporary newspaper clippings related to the Apache are also present.
First Superintendent of Indian Affairs for Arizona, 1863- 1864; known as the Father of the Arizona Territory due to his lobbying efforts to establish Arizona as a separate territory.
