This collection consists of a photograph album of carte de visite photographs. Carte de visite photographs are photographs mounted on a piece of paper, often the size of a formal 'visting card'. These types of photographs were popular from circa 1850-1910. Carte de visites are patented by photographer André Adolphe Eugène Disdéri in Paris, 1854.
