Delta Tau Delta (DTD) was founded in 1858 at Bethany College in West Virginia. The University of Arizona chapter first gained interest in the 1950s because of Arizona based Delta Tau Delta alumni. The chapter gained official recognition from the national DTD organization in 1959 and became known as the Epsilon Epsilon chapter. The chapter house occupied three different buildings at the University of Arizona, 1550 N. Vine, and 1050 N. Cherry Ave. Their current location is 1633 E 1st St. The chapter operated as recognized chapter from 1959-2015.
In 2015, UA chapter membership was suspended by it's national organization due to continuous violations of the fraternity's values and principals. The University of Arizona officially cut ties with the chapter in July 2015. An unrecognized chapter still operates on University of Arizona campus.
