#WeAreUAZLibraries is a bi-weekly series that introduces our staff on Facebook and Instagram. Meet Annabelle Nuñez!

What do you do?

I am the Associate Director for the Health Sciences Library (UAHSL). I oversee the library’s outreach activities, represent UAHSL to the Arizona Health Information Network (AZHIN) consortium, and facilitate partnering relations with the National Network of Libraries of Medicine Pacific Southwest Region and other regional and national entities.

How long have you worked for University Libraries?

In August it will be 14 years, 13 of them as a reference services librarian, mostly as an embedded liaison to the Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.

What’s your favorite library resource or service and why?

Reference and research consultations! It is a service that allows for in-depth and comprehensive discovery and access to the amazing collection of information resources we have and can obtain for students, faculty, and general library users. Plus, it’s pretty awesome to have the opportunity to contribute to the amazing things people are developing and working on to improve and promote health and wellness that benefits us all.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I was a competitive synchronized swimmer for eight years; I attend large music festivals (EDM); and I love crafting, particularly jewelry making.
