Intermittent issues affecting the ReDATA repository

ReDATA has been experiencing waves of high-volume, automated traffic since mid-December 2025. This has resulted in slow access and intermittent errors. We have been monitoring the situation and are working with our vendor (Figshare) to minimize impacts to campus.

The Figshare team reports that there has been no security breach or data compromise, and they have deployed certain mitigation measures to address the issues. The measures include traffic-shaping rules and security controls.  However, the measures could result in forced logouts and temporary blocking of automated tools. Users may also experience difficulty saving items and accessing pages from time to time. Responses from application programming interfaces (APIs) may also be delayed.
