Borrow anatomical models at the Health Sciences Library
Hearts, eyes, legs, and brains, oh my!
Learning anatomy can be accomplished through various teaching methods. While 3D visualization technology is popular, there is still interest in physical models.
We're happy to announce the addition of 15 new anatomical models to our collection at the Health Sciences Library - Tucson.
The models are showcased in beautiful glass display cabinets located at our Ask Us information desk on the 2nd floor of the library. The collection includes a 7-part human eye, a pelvis with a mature fetus, a 9-part foot with muscles, ligaments, nerves, and arteries, a life-size muscle arm, and so much more.
The human models are available Monday-Thursday, 8am-8:30pm, and Friday, 8am-5pm.
University of Arizona students and faculty can borrow the models for up to four hours for in-library use.
Borrow horse head models at the College of Veterinary Medicine
In addition to the human models, University Libraries purchased two life-size horse head models for the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) in Oro Valley.
Now, students can practice more advanced equine care procedures on the simulator head, including intramuscular injections and jugular blood draws.
The models are available at the CVM Clinical Skills teaching laboratory.

Get creative! The Health Sciences Library is having a horse naming contest.
College of Veterinary Medicine students are invited to submit names for our “horse couple.” CVM students will choose the winner.
The contest is open through September 9, 2022. The winning names will be announced at a reception in late September.
