Fifty eight (58) audio cassettes interviews, transcripts, and signed release forms. Interviews are with people who graduated from the UA between 1929-1994. Materials were created by Jay Rochlin to support his dissertation examining reasons behind the success of roughly 50 Mexican American and African American graduates of UA. Materials were basis of his book “Race and Class on Campus: Conversations with Ricardo’s Daughter” published by UA Press in 1997.
A native of Nogales, Arizona, previous hitJay Rochlin next hit earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and education (1973), a master's in business administration (1987) and a PhD in higher education (1993) all from the University of Arizona. Rochlin's career has included work in both radio and television broadcasting, during which he served as the editor of the University of Arizona Alumni Association magazine for twenty years, and as an assistant professor of practice in the UA's School of Journalism for eight years before his retirement in 2012.
