Materials in this collection relate to the Broadway Project and the Broadway Coalition. When the City of Tucson began discussion widening Broadway, many citizens were concerned about how this would impact local businesses, transportation, sidewalks, and the overall 'feel' of the neighboring establishments and neighborhoods. A group of local activists began working on alternative plans, met with the Mayor and City Council, and continued to say "no" to the proposed widening of the road.
