Alex Wingate
I manage and provide access to rare books within the University of Arizona's Special Collections. I am a book historian, librarian, and digital humanist by training, and I love working with people across many disciplines to collaborate on instruction, research, and exhibitions with rare books and book history. My own specialties are in the book history of early modern Spain, Europe, and the Americas. My research explores the book history of early modern Navarre, Spain; the application of digital and quantitative methods to book history; and the intersections of book history, information and library science, and digital humanities.
All books from all places/time periods and in any language are fascinating pieces of material culture, and whether you're a student, faculty member, staff, community member, or outside researcher, I'm excited to help you engage with our rare books collections!
