I am the Libraries' Oral Historian and I produce Archive Tucson, our ever-growing collection of local oral histories. Additionally, I speak to UA classes and consult with grad students about oral history, radio production, podcasting, and audio recording. When not doing those things, I produce videos and shoot photos for the Libraries.
I grew up in Tucson, earned a BA in History from Lewis & Clark College and an MA in US History from the University of Arizona. My independent work has appeared on Latino USA, Snap Judgment, numerous public radio stations, and I have also contributed to High Country News, San Francisco Magazine, and Boing Boing. In 2005 The New York Times called my first podcast "a cross between the Firesign Theater and Hunter S. Thompson," which was completely misleading but still gives me something to aspire to.
