If you want to learn more about AI, we’ve updated five of our generative AI tutorials

A lot has changed since we first created the tutorials in 2023.

Over the past few years, we received a lot of constructive feedback from our users that  guided our updates. They valued the interactive activities and balanced coverage of AI’s benefits and limitations while asking for more depth on ethical concerns and how the technology works.

In response, we expanded those topics and added new examples and activities throughout.

We’ve focused especially on this question: How can we use these tools with human creativity and critical thinking at the center?

Recent studies show that generative AI is now commonplace in higher education. Gallup found that 57 percent of U.S. college students use AI in coursework at least weekly. A Clarivate survey similarly reported nearly universal adoption of AI for academic work.

Given widespread use, we aim to help students use it thoughtfully, effectively, and in line with the policies of their instructors.

Our tutorials include short videos, practice activities, quizzes, tips, and reflection questions. Students can explore them directly, and instructors can easily copy them into Brightspace courses.

Each tutorial includes a feedback form—we’d love to hear from you.
