Jesus Villalobos will join University Libraries Research Engagement as an Open Education Resource Specialist on January 19. He will provide production support for the Digital Borderlands Anthology, an Open Educational Resource that will be developed as part of the Digital Borderlands in the Classroom initiative funded by the Mellon Foundation.

The anthology will feature chapters by participants in the Digital Borderlands in the Classroom Summer Institute (watch video about the program), showcasing the innovative course integrations of borderlands scholarship, archival research, and digital tools, and will be published in both English and Spanish through the U of A Pressbooks platform

Since 2017, Villalobos has worked in Access and Information Services most recently as a Training Developer. He also interned in CATalyst Studios, and with the Mexican American Heritage and History Museum. He graduated with a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the U of A in 2024, and was part of Knowledge River Cohort 22. He's currently working on his master's in Latin American Studies at the U of A.

Congratulations, Jesus!
