Join us as Karen Frances Begay, Assistant Vice President for Tribal Relations at the University of Arizona, presents a lecture titled "Weaving Our Histories Together". The talk is being held in conjunction with the current exhibit, "American Indian Students at the UA", on display until December 19 in the Main Library.
Karen Frances Begay is from the Navajo Nation, and has been working at the UA for twenty years. She began her association with the University at the young age of 5. Her first steps on campus were with her parents in the late 1960's, when they were pursuing their degrees. Karen graduated from the UA herself, earning a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration in 1989, and a Master's in American Indian Studies in 1998. She is currently working on a doctorate degree in Higher Education. She will share stories about her experiences at the University of Arizona, covering almost five decades, from childhood to the present.
