What does home mean to you?
At the University of Arizona, students carry stories from all over the world—stories shaped by culture, family, migration, and identity. But not every story is visible on campus. "Home Sweet Home" is your chance to bring those stories to life.
Hosted by CATalyst Studios, this one-of-a-kind program invites you to design and create a full fashion look inspired by your personal definition of home—whether that’s a place, a feeling, a memory, or a community.
Through hands-on workshops, mentorship, and collaboration, you’ll:
- Learn creative skills like sewing, design, and storytelling through fashion
- Work in a team (2–5 students) to build a head-to-toe look
- Get guidance from local artists and community mentors, including activist-artist Feng-Feng Yeh
- Create using sustainable materials like upcycled clothing and donated fabrics
- Showcase your work in a live, student-powered fashion show
Your project culminates to a fashion show on November 13, 2026, when your design hits the runway in a powerful celebration of identity, creativity, and belonging.
Whether you’ve never touched a sewing machine or already love fashion, "Home Sweet Home" is about more than what you wear—it’s about where you come from and how you connect.
Spots are limited to 8 teams.
