Data Science with Large Language Models (LLMs): Introduction (online)

When

12 p.m. – 1 p.m., Oct. 25, 2024

Where

This workshop offers a beginner-friendly introduction to using Large Language Models (LLMs) in data science.

The focus will be on understanding the basics of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), their historical evolution, and one key architecture: the transformer. Participants will learn about the significance and applications of LLMs without requiring prior coding experience.

A follow-up workshop will provide live demonstrations of LLMs in action.

Audience: The general public. No prior coding experience is required. This workshop is designed for anyone with an interest in the history and evolution of AI, as well as the foundational theories of ANNs.

Registration is required.

Learning Objectives

1. To explain the history and fundamental concepts of ANNs, focusing on the transformer architecture.

2. To introduce and explain Large Language Models (LLMs) and their significance.

3. To demonstrate the practical applications of LLMs in data science
