3D Printing Certification

This in-person workshop covers the basics of 3D printing on our Ultimaker machines. Once certified, you will be able to independently operate the 3D printers in CATalyst Studios.

You must complete the online portion of our certification within the CATalyst Studios D2L.

Register now.

Follow these steps before arriving to the certification:

1. Register for the CATalyst Studios D2L course.
2. Watch our orientation video and sign our user agreement. Both are found in the Orientation module. The 3D printing prework module will not populate until these are both completed.
3. Within the 3D printing module, complete the 3D printing tutorial, take the 3D printing quiz (100% score required, multiple attempts are allowed), and prepare and slice your file according to the 3D file prep Instructions.
4. Come to the certification with your sliced file saved to either your computer (must have USB port for file transfer), or a personal USB drive.
5. Show the facilitators your 3D printing quiz score when you arrive (found in the Grades tab)

Please note:

• If you have not completed the certification prerequisites upon arrival, your registration will be canceled.
• If you are more than 10 minutes late, your registration will be canceled.
• If you are not a UA affiliate, you are still welcome to attend this certification. Please email us for alternate access to the prework.
