About this collection

This collection consists of theatre programs and season announcements from University of Arizona's Department of Drama, now the School of Theatre, Film and Television within the College of Fine Arts. Materials are from 1909 to 1985. The programs are organized alphabetically and feature a variety of plays and musicals.

Historical background

Founded in 1885, the University of Arizona was the first University to be established in Arizona, just 27 years before it was named the 48th state. The University initially consisted of the School of Agriculture in the Old Main building and has expanded exponentially over the years: now home to 21 colleges and numerous Departments, Schools, and Offices. The College of Fine Arts consists of the School of Art, School of Dance, School of Music and School of Theatre, Film and Television.
