Collected by Tucson Museum of Art Chief Curator Julie Sasse, materials included programs, news articles, flyers and other materials related to the various exhibitions held at the Tucson Museum of Art. Also included are materials related to exhibitions held at the Elaine Horwitch Galleries and some slides and photographs of exhibits.

Historical background

The Tucson Museum of Art was established in 1924 as the Tucson Fine Arts Association. In 1954 the name was changed to the Tucson Art Center when it's mission changed to include exhibition and education and finally in 1975 it became the Tucson Museum of Art to reflect its collecting activities. The Museum includes original and traveling exhibitions that focus on the Art of Latin America, American West, Modern and Contemporary Art and Asian Art.
