This collection primarily includes news clippings and documents related to the Tucson Civil Rights Coalition and the issues they were involved in. Also included are organziation records such as correspondence, meeting agendas and associated documents as well as brochures and organizational history.
The Tucson Civil Rights Coalition was a volunteer group of community based organizations with a shared mission to improve the climate in Arizona for the advancement of civil rights. The Coalition formed in 1990 when six civil rights groups came together to examine the Arizona Civil Rights Division in Tucson. The Coalition successfully lobbied local governments and officials on civil rights related issues and as well as participated in various programs and events.
