About this collection

This collection consists of photo prints, contact sheets, film negatives, and mounted photos that were included in Henk Moonen's photo exhibit entitled "Arizona Ghost Towns - A Photographic Journey Through Time." This exhibit toured the U.S. in the mid-1970s after the photos had been taken of various ghost towns around Arizona and part of New Mexico in the early 1970s. It also contains miscellaneous items regarding the exhibit and the creator.

Historical background

Originally from Holland, Henk Moonen (1922-2007), creator of this exhibit, held a long career in photography at the University of Arizona.
