The carta de censo consists of 12 leaves, written in procesal style hand. Also included is a carta de poder (power of attorney) granted to canons Pedro de Carboneras and Juan de Santillán in 1519, by the Dean and Chapter of Segovia Cathedral, to act as their representatives in the contract with Diego de Arévalo. The censo enfitéutico is a special contract in which the owner of real property transfers his rights in the property to another person in exchange for a specified censo (tax or tribute) to be paid when specified and as specified in the carta de censo.
