Nicole Pagowsky and the Critical Librarianship and Pedagogy Symposium receive ACRL award
Nicole Pagowsky and the Critical Librarianship and Pedagogy Symposium (CLAPS) have received a 2019 Special Certificate of Recognition and Appreciation from the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Instruction Section. This award recognizes individuals who make a unique contribution to the field of information literacy and has only been awarded five times since its inception in 1996.
The certificate recognizes the contributions that CLAPS makes in addressing critically important issues in librarianship, as well as in building community among librarians interested in critiquing power structures inherent in information practices and their work as educators. CLAPS was held November 15-16, 2018 and brought in 150 people from across the country to engage in panels, presentations, and lively discussions.
