Honoring Tucson women for Women's History Month
March 20, 2018
To celebrate Women's History Month, listen to three short stories from three women who grew up or lived in Tucson in the mid-20th century. All of the interviews are part of our Archive Tucson oral history collection.
- Romelia (Romy) Sacina grew up in the barrio during the 1940s.
- Dianne Bret Harte moved to Tucson as a teenager during the Second World War, though she had family here since the late 19th century. She has worked at the Arizona Historical Society, the University of Arizona, and the Southwestern Foundation.
- Stella Jacobs moved to Tucson as an 11 year-old in the late 1940s and worked in education for many years.
