Photograph album of University of Arizona student Henry "Hank" Slicer. Quarto measuring 9.5" x 11" with cream cloth over stiff paper boards. The album contains 88 sepia-toned and black and white gelatin silver photographs the include captions, compiled while Spicer was a student in the mid-1940s. He documents students, events and campus during his time at the university and as a photographer for the Daily Wildcat.

Historical background

Henry “Hank” Slicer was born in San Fransico, CA on August 1, 1925. He was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and attended Iolani School. Slicer later transferred to Tucson High School and graduated in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry during WWII. After the war, Slicer attended the University of Arizona and was a photographer for the Daily Wildcat graduating in 1947. After graduation, Henry joined the Phoenix Brickyard in 1950, spending his whole career with the company and served as its Vice President. Henry was an active member of the Arizona Masonry, Western States Clay Products Association, Construction Specifications Institute, Phoenix Optimist Club, and American Institute of Architects. Henry passed away in Phoenix, Arizona June 2, 2007.
