The collection consists of print materials created and used in the marketing of the event throughout the university and community including newspaper articles, newspaper advertisments, print and photgraphic advertisements that were posted on campus, and banners celebrating the history of the university, its famous accomplishments such as Mars landing events, scientific breakthroughs, and the 125th anniversary event itself. The collection consists of marketing protoyptes for the event and logos, photographs of events surrounding the celebration, internal marketing plans, DVDs, CDs, and miniDVs of various events, and interviews with people connected to the university. The collection also consists of photocopied historical newspaper articles, prints, calendars, 16 mm film reels of graduation ceremonies, and banners celebrating historical accomplishments of the University. Video recordings consist of 8 miniDVS of events and interviews, and 5 16mm film reels of graduation ceremonies and dedication ceremonies.
In 2010, the University of Arizona celebrated its 125th anniversary. It was called the Silver and Sage celebration, honoring the original school colors. The celebration was led by the university Office of External Relations with participation from most on campus units.
