Photo scrapbook compiled by Robert Lenon from approximately 1914-1934. Contains photographs and negatives of Yuma, AZ; the University of Arizona campus, Bear Canyon, Sabino Canyon, and various scenic and mining locations in Southern Arizona, New Mexico, Pike's Peak, Colorado; Boulder (now Hoover Dam), and Northern Mexico. Also includes a set of photos of a badger fight on the UA campus.
Robert Lenon was an Arizona mining engineer and surveyor for over forty years, practicing primarily in Patagonia, Arizona until his retirement in 1975. A 1930 graduate of the Department of Mining and Geological Engineering at the University of Arizona, his career in mining was interrupted by a five-year stint in the US Armed Forces during WWII, where he served in both the European and Pacific theaters. In later years, Lenon was an active supporter of the Arizona Historical Society and published two volumes of memoirs documenting his years in the Arizona mining industry. He died at the age of 99 in 2008.
