Remininscences, treatise, and petition relating to early Arizona topics. Includes 24-page typescript of Wingar's reminiscences, and his daughter, Alice B. Gregg's account of an encounter with Apaches. Also includes a treatise entitled "Abolition of the Indian Factory System", author unknown, and a petition to the Secretary of the Interior regarding construction of the Arizona canal on the Salt River, author unknown.
Methodist clergyman and Arizona pioneer. Wingar moved to Prescott in 1877, and later lived in Florence, Pinal, Globe, and Tempe. He was active in establishing a school at the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation.
