In 2021, the University Libraries announced the first cohort of grant recipients for the three-year $750,000 Mellon Foundation Digital Borderlands grant will focus on highlighting more perspectives of the history, culture and experiences of people who live and work on the U.S.-Mexico borderlands.

That cohort is led by Dean Shan Sutton (principal investigator), Special Collections Head Verónica Reyes-Escudero (co-principal investigator), and Research Engagement Head Megan Senseney (co-principal investigator). This month, two of the grant project teams are holding launch events that are open to the public.
