Verónica Reyes-Escudero appointed Head of Special Collections
University Libraries is pleased to announce the appointment of Verónica Reyes-Escudero as the new Katheryne B. Willock Head of Special Collections. Verónica has been the Borderlands Curator in Special Collections since 2006 and has worked at the Libraries since 2000. She is an alumna of the University of Arizona and has strong relationships and partnerships with campus faculty and partners as well as with community members. Verónica has brought in significant collections and developed the instructional program in Special Collections. Her passion and leadership have been recognized nationally by her peers through her elected position as chair of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL).
“I am so excited to serve as the Katheryne B. Willock Department Head of Special Collections and to work with my fantastic colleagues in Special Collections and the rest of the Libraries to build on our distinguished collections and support for research and teaching,” Reyes-Escudero says. “I look forward to continuing the relationships we’ve developed and to the work ahead.”
