U of A Open Textbooks

University Libraries and the University Center for Assessment, Teaching & Technology (UCATT) jointly funded campus access to Pressbooks, the University of Arizona's publishing platform, making it free for any University student or employee to use.

College of Information Science Associate Dean Diana Daly participated in the first open educational resources/Pressbooks learning community co-taught by University Libraries Research Engagement Librarian Cheryl Casey. Daly published the U of A’s first big Pressbooks project, and redesigned her large general education class to include open pedagogy (involving students in the creation of open educational resources).

Daly’s latest edition of Humans R Social Media, a "living new media textbook for college learners and collaborators," is featured as Pressbooks’ Book of the Month. Daly collaborated with the University of Colorado Boulder on this edition.
