Our response to COVID-19
When the COVID-19 pandemic shifted teaching, learning and research to remote and online environments, we were here to meet the most pressing needs of students, faculty, instructors and staff. We made a big difference in a short amount of time. Because at the University of Arizona, we're all in this together.
Our impact March-May 2020
250,000+ | Uses of the 648 University of Arizona Press books made accessible online for free to researchers and students on campus and beyond |
1,477 | Technology loans to students, faculty and staff; includes over 400 laptops loaned to University of Arizona students to ensure they could attend online courses through the end of spring semester |
2,736 | Face shields created and distributed to campus and local healthcare workers as well as to Native nations in Arizona |
181 | We're one of 181 COVID-19 Rapid Interlibrary Loan Libraries that work together on a worldwide scale to borrow and loan electronic articles and chapters |
2,051 | Reference and research support interactions by email and chat |
6,157 | Views of online guides developed by our librarians: Library Support for Shifting to Online Teaching (5,235) and Coronavirus Disease 2019: General Information-Clinical (922) |
2.5M+ | Number of digital titles from our collection made available through the Hathi Trust Emergency Temporary Access Services program when our physical collection wasn't accessible |
