Niamh Wallace honored with 2021 Lois Olsrud Faculty Excellence Award
We are pleased to announce that Associate Librarian Niamh Wallace is the 2021 recipient of the University of Arizona Libraries’ Lois Olsrud Faculty Excellence Award!
This award is given annually to honor one of our faculty members who has embodied our organizational goals and has clearly demonstrated a sustained level of excellence in service to and collaboration with our campus community.
Niamh was nominated by her library faculty and campus colleagues for her commitment to diversity, her successful partnerships as a liaison, and her unebbing collaborative spirit with her library colleagues. Her work includes co-creating a Black Lives Matter library guide, co-developing guidelines for accessing archival materials by and about Native American communities, and serving on the Libraries’ Diversity, Social Justice, and Equity Council.
In the description of the Lois Olsrud Library Faculty Excellence Award, its namesake is described as “a dedicated and caring professional” who was “highly respected by her colleagues [and] the many UA faculty and students she worked with.” Niamh not only lives up to this standard but also sets a high bar.
Congratulations, Niamh, and thank you for all of your excellent work!
The Library Faculty Assembly Awards Committee members are Jen Church-Duran, Bob Diaz, and Yvonne Mery.
