In early November, Digital Scholarship Specialist Heather Froehlich attended the annual conference of the Association for Computers and the Humanities, a U.S.-based professional society for the digital humanities that supports and disseminates research and cultivates a vibrant professional community through conferences, publications, and outreach activities.

At the virtual conference, Froehlich presented on the collaborative work she and Data Science Specialist Jeff Oliver prepared for first the Mellon-funded Digital Borderlands in the Classroom cohort. Froehlich and Oliver share an interest in data literacy, and both work in University Libraries Data Cooperative, a hub of data support services and resources for University of Arizona faculty, staff, and students.

"Our paper, 'Digital Borderlands in the (data driven) Classroom,' outlines the design process of our data literacy sessions for the 2024 fellows, how we implemented our activities, and some participant feedback," Froehlich said.

See more information about the next cohort of Digital Borderlands in the Classroom Fellowship Program & Summer Institute, which will run from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. Applications for the next cohort are due January 24, 2025.

Congrats, Heather and Jeff!
