Congratulations, Hayri!

On March 27, members of the University of Arizona Employee Recognition Committee notified Hayri Yildirim, University Libraries Director of Facilities and Planning Management, that he was selected to receive a 2025 University of Arizona Individual Award for Excellence.

This award is given to individuals who merit special recognition for a dedicated service to the University, its employees, and the community. 

In Yildirim's letters of recommendation, he is described as "a dedicated and exceptional professional whose contributions have made a significant impact. He played a vital role in the planning and construction of the UA Student Success District. Colleagues consistently praise his expertise, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence."

Colleagues also describe Yildirim as "an inspiring force who elevates those around him, always going above and beyond expectations" and "unparalleled dedication to problem-solving and innovation" – underscoring his ability to find creative solutions even in challenging situations.

In addition to his technical skills, Yildirim is recognized for his mentorship and support of others. He shows generosity in sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative environment. One colleague noted: "His guidance has been instrumental in my professional growth, and I have no doubt that his influence will continue to shape the future of our industry." 

Yildirim's nomination is a testament to his outstanding character, leadership, and dedication. He and other award winners across campus will be honored at the University of Arizona Awards of Excellence ceremony on Friday, April 25.
