Eight of the 14 space science books recently added to Open Access

With April's solar eclipse and May's unusual aurora borealis fresh in our minds, it's the perfect time to explore space with new open access titles from the University of Arizona Press (UA Press).

Fourteen works from The University of Arizona Space Science Series (SSS) have been added to the open access platform, Open Arizona.

The Space Science collection makes available again the work of leaders in their fields, including Richard P. Binzel, Tom Gehrels, Mildred Shapley Matthews, and many others.

These works provide an important archive of a pivotal time in several emerging fields connected to astronomy and the space sciences. The books were originally published between 1976 and 2000.

Since 1974, UA Press has published exceptional works in the field of space science. The volumes in SSS bring together the world’s top experts, who lay out their foundational research on current understandings, while also building frameworks for the highest-priority questions for the future. Since 2000, books in SSS have been produced in collaboration with the Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston, Texas.
