Data Carpentry develops and teaches workshops on the fundamental data skills needed to conduct research.
The University Libraries is hosting a virtual four-day workshop to build your basic computing skills. If you're a learner who doesn't have a lot of computational experience for data management and analysis in all domains of research, this workshop is perfect for you.

Workshop sessions include:
- Short tutorials and hands-on practical exercises that cover software for proper data organization, easier data manipulation, and efficient data visualization;
- Opportunities for participants to help each other and apply what you have learned to your own research problems; and
- A friendly learning environment to empower researchers and enable data-driven discovery.

What should I be prepared for?
- You'll need a laptop (no Chromebooks or tablets) or computer with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system.
- Make sure that you have administrative privileges on your laptop or computer.
Are special skills or experience required?
- There aren't any pre-requisites.
- The materials were created for participants who don't have any prior knowledge about the tools.
- The sessions build on the existing knowledge of learners to help you quickly apply skills learned to your own research.
