We’re pleased to be able to provide access to the Health Sciences Library during this time, and we need your help to make sure all library users have a positive experience.

Winter closure hours

The Health Sciences Library will be open for UA health sciences students December 26-31, 8am-8pm.

A CatCard is required to enter the building, and all students must leave by 8pm.

For your safety and comfort

During this period, the building will be unstaffed by library employees and will be monitored by an outside security company.

To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone during this period, please:

  • Avoid letting others enter the library with you.
    • Each person entering the library should scan their CatCard to ensure that everyone in the building has authorized access and to provide an accurate count of visitors.
    • We will use this count to inform future decisions about library access during winter closure.
  • Put all trash in trash cans and clean up any spills.
    • Custodial services will be limited to restocking bathrooms and removing trash every few days.
  • Take phone calls outside and away from the stairwell.
    • Have conversations and group activities on the second floor only.
    • The third floor is for quiet study.
  • Report safety/security concerns and disruptive behavior to the security guard on duty.
    • The guard will be in uniform and based on the second floor in the staff office area near the Ask Us desk.

Thanks, and happy holidays!
