This workshop will introduce participants to the mindset and skills of investigative research.
Participants will:
- utilize University Libraries resources and external tools to answer a complex research question as part of a case study
- follow an information trail across archives, books, films, and digital correspondence, learning to navigate both discoveries and dead ends
- work with organized research folders of public filings, media coverage, and archival materials on Zotero and Scrivener while completing the case study
- practice asking sharper questions, fact checking sources, and weaving scattered materials into narratives
- leave with a toolkit of resources and strategies to support investigative work in a variety of disciplines.
Anyone looking to learn or fine-tune investigative research skills is welcome!
